The project has three research strands addressing the key areas of research:

Strand 1: Models of LLL and the Knowledge Society

Strand 2: Regenerating City-Regions: Learning Environments, Knowledge Transfer and Innovative Pedagogy

Strand 3: Life Chances and Learning Throughout the Life Course

An additional project “Training in Recession” is also being run in conjunction with Cardiff University; as is the Skills and Employment Survey 2012 (SES2012), which is being funded jointly by ESRC and UKCES.
